Magic Sword (魔法の剣 Mahō no ken?) is the 207th episode of the Berserk manga series, written and illustrated by Kentaro Miura.

SummaryEdit

The sylphs, which are the Astral form of wind, target the trolls and rain themselves on them with high precision; they attack the trolls' outstretched arms and open mouths. The gale lingers around the trolls for a moment until it continues down its trajectory. For a moment, the trolls don't move, as though stunned. But the full effect that Serpico's attack had on them is soon made apparent: the sylphs have literally sliced the trolls apart, and they fall to the ground in great heaps of furry flesh.

SerpicosSylphs

Serpico is amazed at the power of the sylphs.

Serpico comes to like his new weapon, and he uses it to kill two more trolls which have approached the woman. He notices another troll on a nearby house. It throws a spear at him. When it appears that Serpico's reflexes won't suffice to escape the spear's trajectory, the sylphs inhabiting his cloak suddenly kick up a fierce gust of wind that knocks the spear away. Serpico kills the troll that threw it.

Isidro decides that he wants to test out the powers of the salamander dagger. He targets a lone troll that's just rounded a nearby house, but changes his mind when it is joined by many others. As he runs back towards Serpico, Farnese and Casca, Isidro throws some of his consecrated berries at the pursuing trolls, who scatter in fear of them. Serpico launches one wide swipe of wind at the trolls before the group begins to run to the church once more.

After a few moments of running, Casca trips and falls to the ground. Farnese bends down to help her up, leaving both girls vulnerable to the trolls. Just as the trolls close in on them, Serpico becomes extremely fearful for Farnese's life and launches a devastating attack at the trolls using his sword, killing them. Farnese then helps Casca to her feet, but the group is already surrounded. The trolls do not advance, however, as they are repelled by Farnese and Casca's silver tunics.

The villagers have made it up to the church, where the village priest is waiting. He, along with a few villagers, notice that Serpico, Isidro, Farnese and Casca have been surrounded and deem them to be lost causes. Just then, Guts steps forward and casually walks towards the sea of trolls, despite protests from the priest. To the villagers' shock, Guts swings the Dragonslayer with enough force to kill five trolls at once.
