Having captured Jill while they were in the woods before taking shelter under a dead tree, intending to sell her off as a sex slave, Deg attempted to have his way with the girl as he drops his pants and approaches her. However, Deg ends being kneed in the crotch to amusement of his comrades. After learning the tree was once a sacrificial site for heretics to commit ritualistic suicide, Deg decides he wants to act it out by cutting out Jill's intestines. But when Deg noticed Guts, he ends up getting his tongue cut when he threatens to kill Guts instead.
