How dare you leave me and this place alone with no mods? I'm only a content mod so if hell breaks loose who will take care of it? I can erase hateful comments and revert edits but that's about it. This wiki needs someone to deal with higher issues in case they show up and since everyone else decided to take a break I'm basically alone here watching over the edits and I'm not even doing a great job at it.
This is a rather odd message, as you yourself are only just now, as of this very message of yours, returning from your second, month(s)-long hiatus of the year. Besty is still around as a bureaucrat, and AzureKesil and myself have handled the occasional disruptive edits / vandalism + actively been maintaining and improving the wiki for a while now.
Given that your message reads like a subtle plea for adminship, if that discussion is on the table and the user I'm about mention is willing to, then I nominate AzureKesil. He has popped in to check on the wiki once to several times a day for the past six month period or so and has extensive admin experience. Definitely the guy for the job if you are concerned about admin activity. That would then very much make for enough reliable admins to handle vandalism and maintain a wiki of this size.
PS: It might seem like I'm missing the occasional vitriolic comments, but I'm just overlooking them, as they're neither articlespace vandalism nor disruptive edits and I'm admittedly only concerned with improving and maintaining the mainspace / articlespace, not with comments or diplomacy.
I check it every day but I barely edit so it does seem like I'm on hiatus. I did however take a break at one point because of college.
I had forgotten that you were around XD and Azure would be a pretty good mod. The main objective of the message was actually to bring Besty out of retirement since it's been a while since the last time I saw him. Kinda miss the good old times with the chat jokes (I dunno if he uses the Discord thing but I can't stand it so I left it quite some time ago).
Not a huge Discord user myself, but Besty can be reached from time-to-time on there. Morning-ish seems to be the best time to try and catch him.
If you indeed check the wiki every day, then that's great. Three year-long inactive admins were recently demoted, so there's room for both you and Azure to be admins if you two are willing and Besty is cool with that. The more active admin eyes the better (though 4-5 admins would be just fine – appropriately God Hand-esque).
That would then allow me to take breaks without worrying about this place falling into complete and utter ruin.
I should enter the discord again then. I don't know if I should become a mod (I was one in the past but asked Besty to take out the role). My concern was that the place had no mods active which would be pretty bad (sorry Rec I totally forgot that you were still active >.<) but Azure would make an awesome mod since he makes a lot of contributions and he already has experience from being the mod of the spanish Berserk wiki (I THINK he's the owner of the wikia not 100% sure).
Since I ended up landing here and people were typing about me...
I've never founded any wiki (even though I've adopted one and ended up being an admin in some). I'm not a male. I don't think I'd be able to be a good admin here due to lack of time, but I'd be happy if I could have access to mod tools in order to deal with those pesky image files that can be salvaged if renamed. Plus I have personal reasons to try my best so that no one ever says that dreadful "but the Berserk wiki is not a reliable source!" claim anymore.
Opsie. Sorry about that. In any case you'd be a good mod here even if you don't have much time. That claim really hurts the feels and you're doing a great job at editing to prove it wrong. If a voting starts to decide who deserves the promotion you'll have my positive vote.
One reason I nominated you was because you have been fixing lots of maintenance issues on the wiki (and in fact reminding me that they even exist by doing so); figured w/ admin rights, you could more easily clean up maintenance issues, while also potentially handling cases of vandalism entirely on your own (w/o needing to wait on an admin to show up and do the banning), as you still seem to check in at least once or twice a day.
Hopefully that claim ("the Berserk wiki is not reliable") has at least been greatly diminished in accuracy and effect in the past few years. There are still many, many less than stellar articles, but they're not the ones drawing the most attention thankfully; these articles specifically have been targeted for improvement, and hopefully that has helped to positively change the perception of the wiki.
Besty may not see this for a while as is. Might have to catch him in Discord to notify him of this discussion.
Hey guys (._.)/ Shiza it's been a while... Although I don't edit much here, I'm usually pretty active around Wikia or Discord. Azure you've been here almost as along as I have. You're a good editor and I'd be more than happy to give you mod rights if you wish. Shiza if you aren't busy you should come back and help.. ?
I'll help as much as I can. I'll just read again the last 10 chapters of Berserk to remind myself of what is going on and if there are any characters that didn't get pages yet and also to remind myself of what's going on.
When it comes to names, "Theresia's Vow" by itself is not sufficient. Ideally, the image name would include the manga episode it comes from, then a name related to the image's contents, then the medium. In this case, it would be "E0H-Theresia's Vow-Manga". This way, the image is easy to source. All updated articles on the wikia have images named in this style, although many images on the wikia that were uploaded before these guidelines were introduced just have descriptive titles, or are jpgs with no descriptive names at all (only a series of numbers or something like that), which we try to avoid. PNGs are preferred over JPGs, as Besty said.
